Subject Area	A-level	GCSE
Biology	AAA-ABB, including two of Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Math (the Hard Sciences). You must have a grade A in at least one Hard Science and pass the practical assessments in these subjects.	We require a minimum of grade C (or 4 in the newly reformed GCSEs in England) in English Language and Mathematics. Applied GCSE Mathematics courses (eg WJEC Mathematics - Numeracy) cannot be accepted as an alternative to GCSE Mathematics.



Chemistry	AAA including chemistry and one other science or mathematics subject.	Applicants must demonstrate a broad general education including acceptable levels of Literacy and Numeracy, equivalent to at least Grade C or 4 in GCSE English Language and Mathematics. GCSE English Literature will not be accepted in lieu of GCSE English Language.

Economics	AAB, including A in Mathematics.	Minimum grade C in English Language and grade B in Mathematics. In the newly reformed GCSEs in England you will require a grade 4 in English Language and grade 6 in Mathematics.


Electrical and Electronic Engineering	AAB including Mathematics and either Physics, Electronics, Further Mathematics or Chemistry. Practical skills are a crucial part of science education and therefore there will be a requirement to pass the practical element of any science A Level taken.	GCSE English Language and Math are required at a minimum of Grade C or above or Grade 4 or above for applicants holding newly reformed GCSEs in England.



Finance	AAB	Minimum grade C in English language and grade B in Mathematics. In the newly reformed GCSEs in England you will require a grade 4 in English language and grade 6 in Mathematics.

Mathematics	A* (Mathematics) AA to A (Mathematics) AA	Applicants must demonstrate a broad general education including acceptable levels of Literacy and Numeracy, equivalent to at least Grade C or 4 in GCSE English Language and Mathematics. GCSE English Literature will not be accepted in lieu of GCSE English Language.

Medicine	AAA including: Chemistry or Biology/Human Biology; and one of the following subjects from Chemistry; Biology/Human Biology; Physics; Psychology; Mathematics or Further Mathematics.	at least five GCSEs at grade A or A*. English Language, Mathematics and at least two science subjects are required at GCSE minimum grade B. If Dual Award Science or Core and Additional Science are offered, the minimum required is BB.


Physics	AAA-A*AA (to include Physics and Math). We would normally require a pass in the Practical Assessment in the newly reformed science A levels.	Applicants must demonstrate a broad general education including acceptable levels of Literacy and Numeracy, equivalent to at least Grade C or 4 in GCSE English Language and Mathematics. GCSE English Literature will not be accepted in lieu of GCSE English Language.
